Vila Gale Collection Elvas

Located in the historic center of Elvas, the Vila Gale Collection Elvas hotel is the result of the renovation of the former Convent of Sao Paulo, built in the late 17th century. Elvas stands out as the largest bulwarked fortified town in the world and was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012. Based on this distinction, the hotel’s decor is themed around historic Portuguese military fortifications in Portugal and around the world.

The original building served several purposes, serving as a military court and barracks, and also suffered some destruction throughout its history. More recently, it was restored and converted into a hotel, offering a wide range of amenities and comfort for visitors to the beautiful city of Elvas.

Making the most of its original layout, the hotel has 79 rooms, including 7 two-story suites with mezzanines. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, minibar, air conditioning, LCD TV, safe, Wi-Fi, private bathroom, hairdryer, 24-hour room service and amenities such as bathrobes and slippers.
