The Flower Festival is one of the most important and beautiful events in the Madeiran and Portuguese cultural scene, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. With a diverse programme designed to enhance this natural and cultural heritage, the highlight is the Allegoric Flower Parade, an authentic celebration of the rituals of Nature renewal, an inseparable characteristic of Spring.
From 1 to 25 May, visitors can enjoy the flower carpets in different locations, visit the flower and regional produce market, watch performances by cultural and folklore groups or the construction of the Wall of Hope in the Town Hall Square, not forgetting the celebrated Allegoric Flower Parade with over 1000 participants.
