    Testimonials

4 testimonials for Pousada of Vila Pouca da Beira – Hotel Convento do Desagravo

    1. The Pousada is beautiful, the surroundings too. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. We only stayed one night, unfortunately but I can recommend the hotel to couples, singlers and families. But small children might be considered to disturb the calmness of the convent.

    2. This location is amazing! Great for a week long stay in the summer. The countryside is beautiful and the pousada is spectacular. The decorations from the convent are exceptional and the chapel itself is unique and outstanding. The food was excellent, even if the wine was a bit over priced. The rooms were large (and we had the smallest room) and the staff was helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this pousada to any sort of traveller family, couple, single.

    3. We were 2 couples staying there in March 2013 for one night. We tried 4 different historic Pousadas, which were all very nice. However, the Pousada in Vila Pouca da Beira is the one that keeps coming back into my mind. March is of course the low season, so it was not that strange that it was very calm. But that is what we particularly enjoyed, and I would really love to come back for a longer stay, perhaps even to use it as a refuge to do some academic writing. For that a good desk with a comfortable chair would be needed, as well as a good (high-speed) and stable internet connection. I would love to go to such a place. And the staff were all very nice and helpful. Needless to say that the rooms were very nice and clean.

    4. We stayed at the Pousada recently and found it most welcome after a long windy journey from Lisbon. We were shown to our very spacious and well appointed room with a superb view from our balcony over the beautiful countryside. Unfortunately it was too cold for a swim, but the pool looked most inviting and the grounds were manicured. There was a serenity about the whole area. It would be a lovely place to take a few days respite. The dining facilities were good and the food delicious. I would very much recommend this pousada to travellers in this part of the country.
