We have just completed a 5 night tour of northern pousadas. I have to say overall the standard was very high. And the exceptionaly friendly helpful staff we experienced in all the pousadas helped to make our stay. We had breakfast and dinner at all the locations and i must say the food and the portuguese wine was delightful. It sounds a little picky to say the desert buffet in Braganca was dissapointing and the restaurant is ready for a little refurbishment but i suppose late october is a little out of season. overall Bravo!!

Loved Braganca and its charm and location. The pousada is rather modern but the views and staff make all the difference in the world. We had a fun stay with the staff and enjoyed delicious regional food. We had a large and modern room but with a spectacular view of the castle and village. A great place to explore off the beaten path. Very quiet and a nice walk to the medieval section of town. We enjoyed our stay in Braganca and what scenery !!!!

Lovely views, great welcome, good accessable room…but as a wheelchair user it was a disappointment that the restaurant, bar and terrace are down steps…it would be so easy to put in alift, there is a really good space for one to the left of the stairs.

    price/quality ratio acceptable

This pousada has a superb view of the church and castle on the hill opposite. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were excellent. The 50s/60s interior decor was interesting and there are several neighbouring villages to drive to, including Zamora over the border in Spain. There are worthwhile reductions in tarif for golden oldies like us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

An excellent place to stay. Very calm and peaceful, but within reasonable walking distance of the town centre. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the restaurant. I do not think the price was too high considering the location, the nice, large bedroom and the excellent restaurant.
