The Pousada Viseu, Portugal is one of the recent additions to the Pousada network

In March 2007, works began to convert the former hospital into what is now the Pousada in Viseu.

The Pousada has two restaurants featuring menus with regional specialties, giving guests the opportunity to sample the best of Beiras cuisine. The Dao Lafoes restaurant seats approximately 80 persons, while the Viriato Restaurant has a capacity for 100 persons.

Accommodation consists of 35 standard rooms, 29 superior rooms, 17 suites and 3 special suites. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, cable television, mini-bar, hairdryer, safe, cable internet access and telephone.

Facilities at the Pousada include 24 hour reception, bar, room service, laundry, parking, spa and outdoor and indoor pools. The Pousada's spa offers a wide range of services, including sauna, Turkish bath, tropical shower, ice fountain, massage rooms, relaxation room, jacuzzi and gymnasium.

The Pousada has two meeting rooms - D. Fernando and D. Henrique - each with a capacity for 150 people in theatre layout. These rooms are ideal for training courses, product presentations or conferences. The two rooms can be converted into a single room, doubling the capacity.
Audio visual equipment is available including television, video, data-show, overhead projector and flip-chart.

In Viseu, Portugal, there is the Grao Vasco Museum, the cathedral and the Misericordia Church. Within easy access are the Serra da Estrela natural park and the famous Douro valley where grapes for Port Wine is produced.

Activities in the area include walking, horse riding and golf at montebelo course.

Festivities in the area include the Viriato Music festival and the Sao Mateus fair which is held between August and September and is one of the best known regional Summer fairs in the country attracting thousands of visitors.

The Pousada is 130 kms away from Porto airport by modern motorway.
