Formerly a 17th Century Fortress
built by King Filipe, the Hotel Pousada

Setubal offers a rare opportunity
to take a boat trip on the Sado estuary to see the bottle nosed dolphins.
The Arrabida Natural Park
is 20 kilometres from Setubal, it has a spectacular granite ridge and is
a haven for wildlife.
A trip to Vila Fresca de
Azeitao is a must for wine connoisseurs.
A tour of the wine vaults
at Jose Maria is recommended and includes a free tasting of the locally
produced Muscatel.
The Pousada de Setubal has
a beautiful Baroque Chapel lined with azulejos (tiles) relating to the
life of St. Filipe.
