We stayed in one of the superior rooms on the 4th floor, and had dinner in the restaurant. The quality throughout was excellent - the bedroom was spacious, the view was expansive, the dinner was superb. Viseu is a pretty little town, easy to walk around with some interesting architecture and good shops. The Pousada has been created from the old hospital in a very sympathetic manner ... throughout the Pousada there are photographs of the restoration work in progress, which are both decorative and intersting. Driving from Porto I had difficulty finding the place as it is not as well sign-posted as other Pousadas. On arrival I was met by a very helpful receptionist who took care of the luggage while I parked the car in the ample parking space. The bedroom was quite large and most comfortable. There is a good view from the large window towards the north over the town in the direction of the cathedral. It was very quiet all the time. The staff were always respectful and helpful. The service and food quality in the dining room was good for all meals. The location is good for walking about the town with the cathedral ten minutes away.
