From the minute we arrived we were meet by friendly and efficient staff. Our room was very comfortable and the bed linen of a very high standard. Our meal in the dining room was lovely and the help we got from the head waiter with our chose of wine resulted in a bottle of lovely, full bodied local red wine at a very reasonable price! The town itself is lovely and we spent a few hours enjoying the views overlooking Fatima. We will definately go back.

To find a place that is friendly, peaceful, stunning views and good food are very rare. To spent the night at the poussada on the eve of my sisters birthday was very special for us all.
I really would like to give special mention to the beautiful young lady on reception, she was just charming and so helpful, yet another rare find in this day and age. Thank you all once again for making our stay so special.

My three sisters, brother-in-law and I stayed at the pousada, we were delighted to find out that the castle we kept seeing on a hill in the distance would turn out to be where we were going to stay, the staff and service were brilliant, the bedrooms/bathrooms were spacious, fresh and clean, as was the hotel, the views from the ruins was just magic I thought if I held my hand up in the air I would be able to touch the sky amazing feeling. I too would like to single out the hotel receptionist she was just so lovely, helpful and above all had a lovely face and smile I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of visiting Fatima or the surrounding areas. I am sure my sisters and I will return one day. Thank you all

This was our first time in Portugal and we chose Ourem as a location to visit historical areas in Central Portugal including Alcobaca, Tomar, Leira and Fatima. We had never stayed in a pousada before our two night stay in Ourem but we found it to be a wonderful experience.

Being from the US, staying in a pousada is clearly different than our usual stay in a hotel and was also different than the hotels we stayed in when we were in the Lisboa area earlier in the week. Comfortable and peaceful might be the best description – it just felt like we were very welcomed and at home. It was very quiet, in part because there weren’t all that many guests when we were there but the ambience of the establishment also promotes a sense of peace and quiet. The rooms were also fairly large by European standards which was a pleasant change from cramped quarters on previous trips in the UK and Scandinavia.

We really enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant. The duck with figs and currants is fabulous and the local wines are excellent. Of course, local wines always taste better when you are in such a lovely place. The breakfast buffet was also very nice and very convenient.

More than anything though, the staff is what makes the pousada so perfect. Kudos particularly to Daniella who was our dinner server – I can’t imagine a nicer or more competent server. I would also like to single out the young lady at the front desk when we arrive (I can’t remember her name) who was very helpful and just genuinely friendly to my wife and I. I have rarely stayed in a place that had staff that was just so nice – not because they were supposed to be but because they just seem like really nice people.

The view from the room and the view from the area around the pousada is outstanding. Driving up to the pousada is, well, quite the experience as well.

Although this is our first time at a pousada, I am sure it will not be our last time. I would recommend that anyone coming to Portugal experience one of these places. We really have very little comparable in the US; I am sure you realize how special these establishments are. You should be very proud of what you have done in Ourem. Thank you for making our vacation so special.

We came in a party of 3, arriving to the Pousada on Thursday. It seemed that we were the only guests on that day. The environment and the hotel are very delightful. Unfortunately the lift was not working and we had to carry the heavy luggage by ourselves. No staff offered help.

The restaurant did not have the food we wanted to order, maybe due to the no. of guests and they did not stock enough variety of food. However, we had excellent service with 100% attention. On the following day, there were more choices of food because there were a few more guests checked in on Friday.

On the whole, we had a very pleasant stay in this Pousada. If we come to Fatima again in the future, we’ll choose this hotel again.

The place is superb and the staff delightful. Great location too. On the downside, some technical problems with the heating but it was taken care of.

Unfortunately our stay was only one day – far too short for this wonderful poussada and historic town. The room was impeccable and so very quiet and comfortable for its bedding, room temperature, lighting and a luxury bathroom. The staff was warm and very helpful. Meals in the dining room were expertly prepared and served with genuine care by friendly staff. A lovely memory is retained from looking out the window into the courtyard at dusk to see the last view of the distant countryside – and seeing and hearing 5 noviates’ beautiful gentle singing of a vesper hymn as they walked around the old cathederal in a light misty rain below our window. There was no one else in the streets and the town was very deserted because it was off-season, so the scene was extraordinary. We regularly stay in poussadas when we visit Portugal, there is no doubt that this was the best accommodation and overall experience with poussadas in over 20 years. We look forward to an early return to stay here again. It was especially appreciated for its quiet, tranquill haven from the crowds after a day at Fatima. The walk to the castle and around the town should not be missed.

This poussada was halfway between Fatima and Tomar and so ideal when touring. Stunning views from the location and we enjoyed wandering around the ramparts of the adjoining Castle the following morning. We were accommodated in the main area, which was great for the dining room, but the pool facilities were in another building. Bed linen was luxurious and the beds were spacious and so comfortable.
As ever, the staff were so helpful and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a quiet alcove of the dining room.
We had been recommended this poussada and we would not hestitate to use it again.

Outstanding views from our room and from the castle. We arrived just in time for mass and enjoyed watching the faithful fill the church. The staff was very friendly and helpful and our room was spacious and comfortable. This pousada is in such a unique location, it shouldn’t be missed!
