Pousada in Manteigas – Hotel Sao Lourenco
Entirely built with stone of the region, the Pousada de Manteigas, Sao Lourenco, is located on the top of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, enjoys a magnificent view over the river Zezere Valley.
This nature hotel in Manteigas has a panoramic Restaurant, that promotes and priviliges the regional Gastronomy. It is the perfect place for peaceful walks, followed by relaxed conversations by the fireplace.
Guests can either practise winter sports during the season or have a refreshing swim in the Summer, in the natural lagoons.
The pousada is situated in a spectacular position looking over Manteigas. The food and service were very good.The only downside was the lack of a lift-hauling suitcases up the creaky stairs was a challenge for Golden Oldies like us!
A historic Pousada in an incredibly spectacular scenery;;;; and the staff is so attentive to the client’s needs that it is a memorable experience well worth the hardship to get there.

The Golden Days discount applies to all types of rooms. In 2009 the the discount is 40% on the rack rate, including breakfast and taxes. Some dates are restricted and may not offer this promotion. More information can be seen at the Golden Age promotion page.
We are interested in staying one nignt, Sept. 18 and wonder if you have a Superior double available? We would love a view and deck if available. Also wonder is the Golden Days discount is only available on standard rooms or if it would apply to the Superior category?
