Pousada in Condeixa a Nova
Pousada in Condeixa a Nova – Hotel Santa Cristina
The Pousada de Condeixa a Nova, Santa Cristina, a former palace owned by the Almadas Family, was built in the 16th century. For several years it received members of the European nobility.
This Palace was completely reconstructed, having been transformed in this beautiful charming hotel. The Pousada Santa Cristina is close to the Lisbon-Oporto motorway (A1), near the historical university city of Coimbra and only 2 Km from Conimbriga, one of the best preserved Roman ruins in Europe.
Its interior design, the peacefulness of its surrounding green areas and the palace park nearby, are all excellent reasons to visit this Pousada again and again.

Good location close to Coimbra, welcome was warm and receptionist helpgul.
Desappointed by the restaurant, dinner very expensive for a below quality. Canned fruits served the breakfast. Personnel rude at the restaurant .
Everything was very good especially the staff but the food at diner was poor.
Very nice place. Quiet and niicely situated, with a good view from our room. Dinner and breakfast were also very good also.
Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, and excellent experience all around. It was our first of five pousada stays and we were really appreciative of the experience. We’d recommend Condeixa-a-Nova in a heartbeat to anyone traveling to Portugal. Make sure you see the ruins while you’re there!
This was the first pousada we stayed in and we were very pleased with it.
Great staff, great location, beautiful rooms, delicious food.
We found the pousada welcoming, well located and very pleasant and attractive accommodation. The staff were helpful and friendly. The availability of free internet access in the lobby was a real advantage and we made great use of it. The location provides excellent access to Coimbra and Coimbriga and we also enjoyed being in the village of Condeixa. We ate at restaurants in the village several times, and found access to the post office and other shopping facilities really useful.
The only downside was the use of a folding bed to provide the required third bed for our room.
A lovely pousada. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the pool and surrounding grounds are lovely. The nearby Roman ruins are amazing and should not be missed! Some of the best preserved mosaics that we have seen.
We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered during our visit to Portugal. The hotel is situated on beautiful grounds, convenient to both the Roman ruins and to Coimbra. We recommend this pousada without hesitation.
We chose this pousada on account of its proximity to Conimbriga and to Coimbra. The accommodation was excellent, the service consistently helpful and friendly, the rates for pensioners most favourable and the restaurant of a high standard. We were a party of 4 and stayed for two nights. We would certainly recommend this pousada to others.
We had an excellent two days stay in your hotel. Good comfortable room, very good breakfast, very kind people.
Only remark is that in the restaurant we were presented with the main menue only, by a slow, not too friendly, poor english speaking gerant. We have finally opted for the jubilee-menu. Conclusion : very long wait and below standard quality.
Hence next day dinner elsewhere.
Hotel ,as said before, was excellent.
An excellent stay. Room was comfortable, grounds are spacious and public areas inviting. Efficient and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
I stayed one night with two friends on February 15th. We found the location convenient for our trip from Lisbon to Porto. However, although we had requested a triple room, we were given a double one to which a folding bed was added, making it rather cramped. The person in the reception was very polite and efficient.
As far as the decoration goes, it was very tasteful. The restaurant was good, to the exception of the rather mediocre desserts, and the service excellent. All in all, a good experience- and what a wonderful country!
An excellent pousada with a good location close to Coimbra and Conimbringa. The welcome was warm, the room superb, the dining equally nice and the breakfast generous… and the free internet connection in the hall is a blessing.
We stayed two nights and were very pleased.
excellent place, quiet and restfull area.
nice welcoming, nice rooms, swimming pool.
